With reference to your letter of the 20th June No.19512/11 on the subject of the pension of Mr H. McKay late Police Constable, Hong Kong, I have the honour to transmit a copy of a letter together with its enclosures in original which we have received from Mr. McKay contain- ing the information which in accordance with your instruc- tions we asked him to supply.
2. I have to enquire whether the Secretary of State approves of our resuming the payment of Mr McKay's pension at the sterling rate of £34. 13. 0. per annum ($166.33
at 4s. 2d.) with effect from the 1st April 1897.
